What time is it?

Adventure time is a cartoon created by Pendleton Ward. It tells about the story of a boy (Finn) and his best friend and brother (Jake). They live after the "Mushroom War" that destroyed one fourth of the planet. Finn the human and Jake the dog live in a continent called "Ooo" in which the habitants are strange characters that I will present you later.

THE REALLY MEAN OF THIS CARTOON

"Adventure Time" takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity was destroyed with a nuclear bomb ( you can see some nukes in the opening ). After this happening, human mostly died and who survived went to the underground, to protect themselves from diseases created by the effects of the bombs. But they didn't know that above their heads the world was changing and the bomb was opening different dimensions (Nightosphere, Lumpy Space, etc.) and the creatures of these different dimensions began living on Earth. The people that survived the war and still were in the surface were transformed into mutated creatures because of the radiation ( Candy population, Undead creatures, Rainbow unicorns, Talking Dogs, etc.). 
In one episode, when Finn and Jake try to reach Lich you can see in the surface an unused nuke before they enter in the subway. 
In some episodes it is mentioned the "Mushroom War", which represents the atomic bombs that make huge clouds shaped like mushrooms when they explode.



MAIN CHARACTERS

FINN The Human
He is the main character of "Adventure Time". Finn is 12 years old at the beginning but he turns 15 after the third season. He is brave and just. He loves explore new lands with his friends and he hopes to become a hero one day. 
His nickname is "Finn The Human" because he is the last human of "Ooo". The rest of humans were transformed in mutants after the radiation.

 Finn was abandoned by his parents when he was a baby. One day, he was crying because he fell on his droppings and nobody helped him until a couple of dogs caught and calmed him. Then, he was adopted by the dogs and he met his new brother Jake who became his best friend. 

JAKE The Dog
Jake is one of the main characters of this cartoon. He is 28 years old at the beginning and he turns 30 after the third season. Jake is a dog with elastic powers and he can transform himself in whatever. His fathers are Josue and Margaret and he has a girlfriend Rainbow-Unicorn. In the episode "Jake the father" he has children.
Jake loves play the violin with his girlfriend and have fun without worrying about anything.

13 years old

827 years old

BUBBLEGUM PRINCESS
She is the princess of Sweet Kingdom and one of the main characters of "Adventure Time". She says that she is 18 years old but she is 827. When she is transformed into a 13 years old girl, her assistant Limoncio becomes the governor of the kingdom instead of Bubblegum Princess because she can't govern with only 13 years.
She is scientific and that is why she loves to do experiments even though some of them are very dangerous. In one episode, she accidentally transforms the whole kingdom in zombies because of a distraction with an experiment.
Finn is in love with her for a long time but then he loses hope and falls in love with the Flame Princess.

MARCELINE ABADEER
She is also one of the most important characters. Marceline has more than 1000 years but she looks like a 18 years old girl. She is the queen of vampires because she killed the last king. Although Marceline is a vampire, she doesn't like tha blood, she only likes the colour. 
Her father (Hunson Abadeer) becomes the governor of Nightosfere when he transforms himself into an evil demon. A pink necklace is the object that transforms him. Hunson deceives his daughter once and she put the necklace becoming the demon that govern the Nightosphere. Finn and Jake helped her taking off the damned necklace. 
Marceline likes play pranks transforming herself into a monster or a bat. She also likes sing and play her guitar.

ICE KING
The Frost King is the governor of the Frozen Kingdom. He has got a crown that gives him ice powers. This king is the enemy of Finn and Jake because he is an old man without a wife and, for this reason, he kidnaps princesses. 
His best friend is a penguin called Gunter however the Frost King is always angry with him for whatever reason.





In the past, he was called Simon Petrikov and he met Marceline when she was only 7 years old. He protected her from bombs because he had a magic crown that gave him special powers. After the war, he left Marcy because he was aware that powers of the crown negatively affected him and he did not want to hurt her. Now, the Frost King don't remember Marceline but she tries to remind him about his past through songs. 





SECONDARY CHARACTERS

LADY RAINICORN

She is the pet of the Princess Bubblegum and Jake's girlfriend. She can fly. 
Lady rainicorn speaks only Korean but in the episode "Lady & Peebles" she speaks for the first time in the same language as her friends to say that she is pregnant. She has 5 sons with Jake.



LUMPY SPACE PRINCESS
She is the princess from the "Lumpy Space". It has a deep, male voice. She is a purple cloud with a star on the head seems to be her crown. She can fly thanks to her star. She is a smug and a grumpy teenager, but she also can be a good girl.

It is a video game machine that has fun with Finn and Jake.
It is always creating new games but the battery runs out too quickly. It has camera, mobile phone charger, video and audio...





SOME IMPORTANT PLACES

LAND OF "OOO"

The Land of "Ooo" is the place where Finn and Jake live. There also live their enemies and friends.

In this continent, there are different kingdoms like the following:

ICE KINGDOM
There are a lot of crystal mountains and, in one of them. lives Ice King with penguins.

CANDY KINGDOM
It was created with all its population by Princess Bubblegum. It is made of sugar and candies.

FIRE KINGDOM
It has volcanoes and lava seas. Its governor is Fire King.

NIGHTOSPHERE
 It is a place surrounded by chaos and many unhappy demons. Finn has a portal that opens the Nightosphere. In this dimension, queens Hunson Abadeer, Marceline's father.
LUMPY SPACE

Lumpy Space is an independent dimension of "Ooo" full of violet and blue clouds floating in an abyss. The people live in houses above the clouds. The portal is a small frog with humanoid voice who lives in the "Cotton Forest". To open the portal they used the password: "Whatever, it's 2009"
In Lumpy Space, there is a "Big Dance" for teens every week.

"ADVENTURE TIME WITH FIONNA AND CAKE"

Is a version of "Adventure time" with the same characters but with different sex.

This story happens in the "Land of Aaa".
The main characters are Fionna, Cake, Bubblegum Prince, Flame Prince and Marshal Lee.
Ice King wrote a book called "Fionna & Cake meet Finn & Jake" in which he tells the first episode of "Adventure time with Fionna and Cake".
