Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars is an American teen drama mystery-thriller television series based on the books with the same name written by Sarah Shepard. It was released on June 8, 2010 on ABC Family Channel, on January 17, 2011 in MTV Spain and March 30, 2011 on Boomerang Latin America. The series has five seasons, the last premieres on June 10, 2014 in the United States. In Latin America they are emitting the fourth season and Spain are emitting the third season. The opening theme is Secret by The Pierces. He was also emitted in 49 countries.

The series follows the lives of four girls: Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marin, Spencer Hastings and Emily Fields. They were friends with Alison DiLaurentis, but one night after the disappearance of Alison they start to be completely separate. A year later the four girls begin receiving messages signed by "-A. "Thanks to the messages they start to be friends again. These messages contain their secrets, they believe that only Alison knew them and they begin to think that she is alive but then the policemen found her dead body. Together they go to the funeral of Alison but when they go out they receive another message from "-A. ". From that time they continually receive messages with threats and blackmail because "-A." knows everything that they do at any time. Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emiliy start to investigate about Alison's death , about who is the murderer and especially about the identity of "-A.".

Main characters

Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson): Hanna's father abandoned her and her mother. Before, she was fat and had no friends but she began to be friend of Alison, she lost weight and gained confidence in herself. When her friend Alison disappears Hanna starts to be friend of Mona, a girl that Alison always insulte , and they were always together. During the series Hanna meets Caleb, a boy who hasn't home, falls in love with him and he helps Hanna and her friends to find who is "-A.".

Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale): She was living in Iceland during the year of disappearance of Alison. His father, Byron, is unfaithful to his wife but Aria keeps the secret to not destroy her family. One night after coming from Iceland she meets Ezra in a bar, and both fall in love. The first day of class Aria realizes that her new teacher, Mr. Fitz, is Ezra. They know that they should not do it but they do, "-A." finds out it and has another reason to threaten Aria.

Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario): She is the perfect student and has a rich family, but she also made ​​mistakes. Slowly she learns that her family hides many secrets about the family of Alison. During the series she falling love Toby , a guy who she thought he had killed Alison but discovers that he isn't. Through the fault of "-A." Spencer has to get away from Toby.

Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell): she is the best swimmer in the school and is very good daughter but "-A." threatens to tell a secret that she takes many years hiding: She is lesbian. When Emily manages to tell the secret she falls for a girl, Maya, but she dies in the second season and nobody knows why. Her father works in the military and often live in other countries for several months.

Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse): she was the most popular girl in the high school and the leader of the most popular group. She was a very bad person and insulted everyone. He had many enemies and hiding many things. Later the girls discover that "-A." also harassed her.

Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn): He brought to Rosewood because he hasn't home, his mother abandoned him when he was young and his foster parents do not want to live with him. He earn money illegally hacking phones. He meets Hanna because a girl paid him to spy Hanna's home, but he realizes that he has fallen in love. Hanna and Caleb begin dating, she tells him his problem with "-A." and he try to help her find his identity.

Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding): He meets Aria in a bar and in that moment they fall in love, but then he began working at the high school of Aria. He later he began working at the University of Rosewood, but because of her parents they dismiss him.

Toby Cavanaugh (Keegan Allen): He is the brother of Jenna and she and Alison took advantage of him. At first everyone blames him as the murderer of Alison but then he demonstrates that he isn't. Later, Spencer and he fall in love.

Mona Vanderwaal (Janel Parrish): She was a marginalized , Alison is constantly insulte her. When Alison died, Mona began to be friend of Hanna and became popular. At first they is not given much importance to this character but slowly becomes a critical character.

Jason DiLaurentis (Drew Van Acker): He is the brother of Alison and he want to discover who killed her. He has no memory of the night that she disappeared but when he wakes up he was found a note that seemed to frame him. He discovers that his father is the father of Spencer.

Jenna Marshall (Tammin Sursok): She is the stepsister of Toby. She goes blind after an accident caused by Alison and her friends, but no one knows who they were. But later she was operate and recovers the sight. Jenna is hiding something and hates the four girls.

In my opinion it is one of the best series I've ever seen. Many people recommended me to see it and when I did I could not stop. It has so much intrigue so when finishes a chapter you want to know more. It's my favorite series and I recommend it a lot. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
