300 is a 2007 American epic film directed by Zack
Snyder. Is the film adaptation of the comic book series of the same name by
Frank Miller, which recounts the Battle of the Thermopiles.
The March 9 2007, 300 was released in conventional
theaters in the United States, as in Latin America. The film received mixed
reviews, being hailed its original visual style as well as criticism for
favoring visuals over characterization of characters, and his controversial description
of the
Ancient Persians. Still, 300 was very well received by
the public achieving a worldwide gross of 456,681,813 dollars being opening the
twenty-fourth largest in box office history.
The film is about the story of Spartan King Leonidas
and his 300 Spartan warriors who fought to the death against
"God-King" Jerjes and his Persian army of over one million soldiers.
Because of the furor of battle, the Spartan Queen Gorgo tried to enlist the
support of Sparta by the Senate. The story is framed by a narrative voice
Dilios Spartan soldier. Through
The film opens with a childhood of Leonidas that is
training to be the next Spartan king, who getting kill a wolf with his bare
hands. One day, when Leonidas being king ofSparta, comes to visit a Persian
emissary of King Xerxes that communicates the requirement to pay a tribute of
earth and water as proof of submission of the polis to Persia. Leonidas refuses
and kill him. Determined to stand up to the Persian army he sent to recruit 300
warriors who will address the Thermopiles step to stop the advancing invader
captain. By the way, a group of Arcadians join them after Leonidas, after being
questioned by the few men they sent into combat, show that what leads to death
Arcadia are armed civilians while their subordinates are all professional
soldiers. Ephialtes, a deformed and hunchbacked man, who was saved by his
mother not to be discarded in Sparta, is presented. The Hunchback Leonidas
offers his services as a soldier, but the king rejects him because Ephialtes
has a body unable to be reconciled with the Spartan phalanx. Leonidas holding
several waves of warriors to annihilate those achieved without suffering any
casualties. Then, Xerxes meets with Leonidas, offering him the leader of all
Greece in return to accept it as their god, to which the Spartan refuses,
promising to turn it up a king who believed with divine power can bleed. After
two days of fighting, Ephialtes visit to Xerxes, and in change for a uniform,
wealth, luxuries and women, reveals the way the leader of the
Path Anopea,
allowing you to get to the rear of Leonidas. Spartan king refuses to leave to
die there in Spartan law enforcement. Before the final battle, sends one of his
soldiers, Dilios, who is famous for his great ability as a speaker, back to
Sparta to tell the story of the sacrifice of the Spartan warriors Senate. At
the same time Leonidas, with its reduced to a few army soldiers, he is
surrounded by the Persian army. King rejects the Persian spokesman last chance
and starts a last attack, throwing a spear at Xerxes and shot him in the face, he
drawing blood as promised, so the Persian army asserts its overwhelming
advantage and kill the lives of all Spartans.
300 became the
second most successful film of 2007 just behind Pirates of the Caribbean: At
World's End which achieved a revenue of 963 420 4254 The film won many awards
including Best Film Fighting are in the MTV Movie Awards 2007 Best Film of 2007
by IGN Best Action Movie, Adventure and Thriller by Saturn Awards and Best
Adaptation of a Comic by IGN.
